DJ Mark McCabe To Bring ‘Maniac’ Fever To Gorey

It doesn’t feel like too long ago since Maniac first appeared on our airwaves…

The 1983 classic by Michael Sembello took on a new life of its own after DJ producer, Mark McCabe, put his own twist on it back in 2000.

The remix, known to many ‘Maniac 2000’, can still be heard across your typical Irish pubs and nightclubs. It’s a song that releases an energy and an excitement amongst the crowd – so much so, that it’s hard not to sing along and join the craic.

Twenty-two years after its release onto the airwaves, Mark McCabe and ‘Maniac’ fever is still as strong as ever.

While Maniac may be one of McCabe’s classic songs, his remix of ‘I’m Feelin It’ back in 2017 with Sunset Bros has been listened to on YouTube over 15 million times while his remix of Gavin James’ song ‘Nervous’ gained notoriety.

Back in 2018, McCabe played during the Gorey Market House Festival and now, once again, he will be back playing at a Gorey venue.

This time, he has been sought by Paddy Blues venue in Gorey and he’ll be on the decks on Thursday, October 27th.

Along side him, who will act as the opening act on the night, will be Wexford’s own DJ Ciano.

Tickets for the night cost €15 and can be purchased from behind the bar at Paddy Blues.
