Member of Wexford Atheltics Club Picks Up Bronze Medal At National Stage In Dublin Marathon

A member of a Wexford Athletics club has received a bronze medal on the national stage….

Sean Hehir, who is a member of Croghan Athletics Club, took national bronze in the Irish Life Dublin Marathon today.

Six weeks after running the same race in a personal best time of 2:16:01 back in 2019, Sean was involved in a serious accident suffering facial breaks, lacerations, a broken shoulder, concussion, memory loss and significant bruising.

Sean gave his reaction to media after the race on what was an emotional day for him:

“The Dublin Marathon in 2019 was my best by a long way and my world changed six weeks later. It has been a long road,” he said.

“I’m thrilled today, I never thought I’d be on this podium again. It’s great to be back.”
