Watch: Goals Win Games As Corner-Back Snatches Victory With Last Kick Of The Game

There was drama in the U-17 Premier Football final today…

The game, which was between Glynn-Barntown and Duffry Rovers, boiled down to the dying moments. The sides couldn’t be separated at the full-time whistle, so it went into extra-time in St Patrick’s Park, Enniscorthy.

It’s true what they say: ‘goals win games’ – and that certainly was the case today. Down by two points with only seconds on the clock, it looked like the title was going to Duffry Rovers.

That wasn’t to be though as up stepped corner-back, Shane Donovan, who buried the ball in the top-corner to claim the win for Glynn-Barntown with the last kick of the game.

Glynn Barntown ran out winners on a score-line of 5-07 to 1-16. It marked an iconic premier double for Glynn-Barntown, having won the premier hurling title earlier in the year.
