Ten Wexford Hurlers On SETU Freshers Team That Defeat UL In League Final

The SETU Fresher’s hurling team won the League final recently…

Ten Wexford natives were part of the successful squad with South East Technological University which defeated the University of Limerick Fresher’s B team.

Freshers hurling is for those who are in the first year of their third-level education.

The Wexford hurlers involved were:

Calum Corcoran (Faythe Harriers)

Michael Dundon (Clongeen)

Aaron Byrne (Oulart)

Oisin Pepper (Rapparees)

Oisin Dunne (Oulart)

Alan Mahoney (Glynn-Barntown)

Oliver Murphy (Blackwater)

John Kelly (St Fintans)

Sean Kelly (Duffry Rovers)

Conall Byrne (Oylegate-Glenbrien).

In related fresher’s hurling news, both Tiernan Doyle (Faythe Harriers) and Darragh Carley (Glynn-Barntown) were involved with DCU who lost out in the Freshers ‘A’ League final to a strong UL team on a scoreline of 1-19 to 0-13. Doyle started in goal, while his Wexford counterpart Carley lined out at midfield.

It’s great to see such a strong contingent of Wexford hurlers lining out with their college teams.
