Wexford Submit Their Bid To Host Fleadh Cheoil in 2024

Wexford have submitted their bid to host the 2024 Fleadh Cheoil…

Each year, the Fleadh Cheoil brings traditional musicians of all ages together to join in a festival of music.

Cllr George Lawlor announced yesterday that a bid document, filled with information, has now been submitted to Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann.

Mullingar, Westmeath, hosted the 2022 Fleadh Cheoil and will also host the 2023 Fleadh Cheoil.

Hosting the Fleadh Cheoil would be a significant boost tot the local economy.

It is believed that hosting the Fleadh Cheoil could bring in approximately €50 million for the local economy.

With more than 500,000 visitors expected to arrive Wexford, there is no doubt that it has the potential to do so.

Wexford are no stranger to hosting significant events; after all, we are Ireland’s home of Opera and Wexford’s firework display brings in massive crowds too.

Wexford’s ability to host is clearly there; finger’s crossed now.
