Wexford Native Leads Team And Is Through To Quarter-Finals Of University Challenge

A Wexford native has appeared on the ‘University Challenge’…

University Challenge is a British television quiz programme that first aired in 1962 and it’s still going strong across our TV screens.

Emily Cullen, originally from Clonroche in Wexford, appeared on one of the most recent episodes of the long-running game-show.

Emily is currently studying for her Masters. A trainee pharmacist at Southmead Hospital in Bristol, the Wexford native was leading a team, representing Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen (RGU).

Not only did the Wexford woman appear on the tv show and lead her team as captain, but the team was also successful in their debut episode, winning by 210 points to 90.

The team, led by Cullen, was welcomed back to the studio yesterday evening and they put in another excellent performance on University Challenge, winning on points 180-75.

They won once again and they now march on into the quarter-finals of the long-running competition.
