Cherished bookshop Red Books, Wexford town, opens ‘Red Books Gorey’

Bookshop Red Books of Wexford town has opened up another bookshop Red Books Gorey in recent days much to the delight of avid readers across the North Wexford region….

Fresh from the success of a brilliant result in an online nationwide poll, where the incredibly popular Red Books Wexford won the overall accolade of best bookstore in Ireland, proprietor Wally O’Neill has ventured to opening Red Books Gorey in the Hawthorn and Mayblossom Shop on Rafter street.

Described as a “bookworm’s paradise” and a “traditional bookshop not without its eccentricities” by Luke Bradley back in September, it was no surprise to see it doing so well in the online poll.

Red Books in Wexford is a highly successful bookshop at St. Peter’s Square area of Wexford town, with a labyrinth of little winding aisles working their way through the shop with shelves either side coming down with books.

On inspection of social media photos on the opening day Red Books Gorey is sure to bring you on the same adventure in the search for that perfect read.

The Bookshop opened with much aplomb and excitement yesterday, with many happy customers thronging the store to find their bookworm interests in a varied supply of Local Interest, Antiquarian, Fictional, Sporting, History and Poetry books amongst many other Genre’s. Red books Gorey is mainly second hand books, but this obviously includes a very wide and varied smattering of more recent, modern reads. 

The opening Hours are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, 10am to 5pm, so be sure to get down and spot some great bargains and great books to sit back, relax and read to your hearts content.
