There has been a lot of talk about this young lad…
After an incredible season with the Ireland U-15 squad, Wexford FC player Kaylem Harnett was named as Ireland’s U-15 Player of the Year for the 2021/22 season.
Coláiste Éamonn Rís student Kaylem made 12 appearances for the Republic of Ireland MU15s during the 2021/22 season.
He made his international debut in a 2-0 win over Montenegro in Podgorica and featured in all but one game for Jason Donohue’s side.
He has since gone on to feature for Paul Osam’s MU16 side and was part of the squad that lifted the Victory Shield in Waterford in October.
Throughout the campaign, Kaylem excelled in the right-back position and this accolade is just a testament to that.
There is no doubt that this young man has an exciting future ahead of him and it’s clear that his club certainly rates him highly.
Yesterday evening, away to Bray Wanderers, Kaylem came on to make his debut for Wexford FC. Although Wexford FC lost the game 3-2 to Bray, it was no doubt a special moment for the 15-yearold who will never forget the occasion.
Wexford FC were quick to congratulate Harnett for making his debut.
The club stated:
“Great to see Kaylem Harnett make his senior LOI debut tonight. No doubt there will be countless more.”
