Wexford Youths Women vs Athlone Town To Be Televised Live On TV On Saturday

The Athlone Town women’s team will be away to Wexford Youths tomorrow (Saturday) evening in a game which will be televised live on TG4…

Kick-off at Ferrycarrig Park in the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division fixture is at 7:35pm, with coverage getting underway at 7:15pm.

Wexford Youths have won two of their previous three games.

They defeated Galway United away in the opening round of the new campaign and then they followed this result up with another win against Sligo Rovers (3-1).

They lost out their next game to Shamrock Rovers (2-1).

After three games, Wexford sit on six points at 6th position of the League table, while Athlone Town have played four games and currently sit at 7th. Peamount currently lead the division with four wins from five, but it’s still early stages of the competition.

The forward combination of Rianna Jarrett and Emily Corbet, with captain Kylie Murphy in support, is frightening. They can tear teams apart with their football intelligence and ability to score all kinds of goals. Wexford will look to supply them with service often and early.

Athlone will feel that they have yet to discover any sort of momentum this season, but this game could be when that happens. After all, they are a team that responds to a challenge.
