The Ditch Publishes Article Criticising Wexford Minister James Browne

A lot has been made of The Ditch in recent weeks…

Articles published by The Ditch in the past have led to the resignations of now-former Ministers, Robert Troy and Damien English.

Their most recent article on Niall Collins, a Fianna Fail TD for Limerick and the Minister for Further Education, has sparked some outrage in the Dail, with Taoiseach Micháel Martin stating that the publisher is not “independent media”, and instead, that they are a “political organisation attacking Government”.

The publisher is known for strategically drip-feeding information into the public realm about the affairs of Ministers and Dáil members.

Their most recent article that they have published is about Wexford Minister, and current Minister for Defence, James Browne.

In their most recent article on Minister James Browne, the publisher has criticised Browne for “personally appointing Gorey man Paul Walsh – who claims to be a Fianna Fáil member – to the role after the department received more than 30 applications.”

The publisher has criticised Browne’s selection; Walsh’s previous actions, whereby he is operating a chainsaw while “standing in the bucket of a digger suspended in the air” were noted in the article and they have questioned his suitability for his role, where he sits on the state firearms committee.

Given their approach with previous stories, one could only suspect that there is more coming from this publisher in relation to this.
