Wexford Camogie Player Joins Davy Fitzgerald’s Background Team

Four-time All-Ireland winning goalkeeper Mags D’Arcy has joined Davy Fitzgerald’s background team.

D’Arcy, who is considered one of the greatest ever camogie goal-keepers was initially brought in to Fitzgerald’s background panel as a goal-keeping coach.

However, after six weeks in the role, D’arcy now finds herself in the general coaching and performance analysis area with the Slaneysiders.

Speaking to the Irish Independent, the St Martins player said:

“I’ve learnt a huge amount already in the five to six weeks that I’ve been involved and I’m very thankful for the opportunity,” she said.

“We’re out in Nowlan Park this Sunday and I’m down to training tonight so it’s hell for leather at the moment and I’m really enjoying it.”

Wexford’s legendary camogie goal-keeper is currently on the sideline due to injury, but she hasn’t ruled out a return to the posts just yet.
