WATCH: Fan Footage Of Kevin Foley’s Winning Last Minute Rasper From 30 Metres

The Wexford Senior Hurling Championship is the gift that keeps on giving…

Rathnure, who were up by two points in the dying seconds of injury time of the Wexford SHC quarter-final against the Rapparees, had one foot placed in the semi-finals of the Wexford SHC.

That was until Rathnure conceded a free in the dying moments, and up stepped Wexford’s inter-county sweeper and Rapparees clubman Kevin Foley.

From approximately 30 metres out with several Rathnure men on the line, Foley connected sweetly with the sliotar. To the sheer delight of the Rapparees fans, it was a rasper of a shot which hit the roof of the Rathnure net at Innovate Wexford Park.

Foley’s shot in the seventh minute of injury time made it 2-14 to 1-16 in favour of the Enniscorthy town side, with the referee’s final whistle blowing shortly after.

You can watch the fan footage of Foley’s goal below:

It’s the Rapparrees who now march into the Wexford Senior Hurling Championship semi-finals, where they’ll face Ferns St-Aidans, St Martins or the winners of St Annes vs Shelmaliers, which was postponed earlier today due to a bereavement.
