Plea Issued: “Please, Please, Do Not Visit Wexford For The Foreseeable Future…”

Restrictions have been placed around some of Wexford’s hot-spots…

The latest Wexford hot-spot to be restricted to the public is Curracloe beach, while restrictions have also been placed in the tourist hot-spot of Courtown and its surrounding areas.

In a short video, David Minogue, a member of Wexford’s County Council, has urged the public not to visit Wexford “for the forseeable future…”

The plea comes as Met Eireann have predicted warm weather for the Easter break and the ‘Sunny South East’ is usually a big tourist attraction.

People would come from a far, but most people would travel one-hour down the motorway from Dublin. However, with Dublin being Ireland’s hot-spot for Coronavirus right now, it’s certainly not advisable to travel and visit other counties.

The words of David Minogue echo similar sentiments. #Stayhome, protect yourself and your loved ones, practice social distancing when exercising, and #washthelámha frequently.

Together, we will get through this Coronavirus and once we do, then you’re welcome to Visit Wexford anytime you like. Just not now.

  1. We stayed at home. We will miss our walks at Bing Bay. Hope to be back soon. Stay safe, stay home.

  2. Keep Wexford safe. Stay away for the foreseeable future. Keep safe everyone and keep to the guidelines.
