Like the Seniors, the Wexford minors were due to play multiple games in the Leinster hurling championship in 2020…
If the coronavirus didn’t emerge, the Wexford minor hurlers would have already played their three games.
The pandemic greatly impacted the GAA’s already-condensed fixture schedule.
The GAA were in a predicament. Just a few weeks ago, it didn’t even look like games would go ahead for 2020.
As with the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship, the Leinster Minor hurling championship has now been revised for the 2020 season.
The revised fixtures have now been finalised and the Wexford Minor hurlers have been drawn into a semi-final against Kilkenny. The game is due to take place on the weekend of 31st October/1st November.
Both Wexford and Kilkenny were the Leinster minor finalists in 2019. The Yellowbellies defeated the Cats on a memorable day in Croke Park for Wexford hurling fans.
Should Wexford be victorious against the Cats, another Leinster final will await them on November 15th. The Model County will be hoping to build on last year’s success, bringing the trophy back home once again.
