Wexford Fantasy Football Fan Shares His Thoughts For Upcoming Gameweek

In this column, Wexford native Aaron Boyse, who is an avid supporter of Fantasy Football will share his thoughts on the upcoming Premier League games…

He believes that the single game-weeks are good too.

Following on from our Double Game week chat last week, this week it’s all about the teams that are playing just once this weekend.

Even though it’s only a single game week, it could still make the difference in the Fantasy Premier League.

GOALS AT LEEDS:

Following on from their entertaining 4-2 loss last weekend at home to Manchester United, FPL managers are set to see another goal-fest when Leeds welcome Tottenham to Elland Road this weekend.

The FPL stalwarts of Son Heung-min and especially Harry Kane, after his brace against Manchester City, will be out to continue his streak against Marcelo Bielsa’s men. Don’t discount Leeds though; they are definitely free-scoring with Daniel James proving that he can assist, after being bench fodder at Manchester United.

This should be obvious and go without saying, but Raphinha (on 100 points in FPL), is the standout option for Leeds United.

CPFC MIDFIELD:

I didn’t think this would happen when he turned up at Selhurst Park, but Patrick Vieira has Crystal Palace ticking over and playing an exciting brand of football.

Here, I am going to concentrate on the midfield of the London club. Up to now, Conor Gallagher, Wilfried Zaha and Michael Olise have a combined 226 points in FPL, showing an average of 8 points across the season to date.

All three are priced kindly at 6.2, 6.8 and 5.4 respectively. It’s easy enough to splash out some cash on in FPL and these players should be considered.

UNDER THE RADAR:

Finally, there is also one team flying under the radar. We are only now starting to think about this side and they are Wolves. Having a look through their FPL assets, one thing that I have found is that the points are evenly spread throughout their side.

For example, their goalkeeper Jose Sa is keeping ahead of the two considered best keepers in the League: Alisson and Ederson.

Conor Coady, Romain Saiss and Max Kilman are the 10th, 13th and 14th best defenders in the game currently. Raul Jimenez is the 14th best striker in the game, so why are we FPL managers not considering Wolves? Me included!
