Wexford Senior Hurling Team Named To Face Galway On Saturday

Wexford will face Galway in the opening round of the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship on Saturday…

A huge home crowd is expected to cheer on the Model County this weekend and the anticipation is building for the match.

Darragh Egan has named his side for the crucial opening home tie.

Interestingly, Oylegate-Glenbrien’s Damien Reck has been selected in the centre-back position, while Conall Flood has secured his place on the starting fifteen after missing out against Waterford in the Allianz League semi-final. To note, all of Wexford’s wing-back line are capable of hitting scores from play on Saturday, which could prove an important factor.

Following the theme of the Allianz Hurling League, Wexford hurling manager Darragh Egan has placed his trust in youth, and three Wexford players will be making their Championship debut.

One glaring omission on the team is Faythe Harriers club man Lee Chin, who is named on the bench for the game. He may prove to be a valuable asset off the bench.
