Pundit Anthony Daly Critical Of Wexford Hurling Tactics On RTE’s The Sunday Game

RTE and GAA pundit, Anthony Daly, was critical of Wexford’s tactics against Dublin on Saturday…

Speaking on RTE’s The Sunday Game, Clare native Anthony Daly was critical of Wexford’s tactics to concede the short puck-out without any major challenge.

This was a feature of the game against Galway too, but Daly believed that the new Wexford hurling manager should have “sorted it out” after that game.

“It was the same against Galway last week. I thought they’d change it up this week. It’s all passive-aggressive, but there’s no real effort to tackle.”

“O’Donnell is allowed to receive it, has loads of time.”

“It’s a feature that I thought they’d sort out within the week,” Daly continued.

“Mattie Kenny will be surprised about how easy that was.”

“I think Darragh Egan and Niall Corcoran will have to sort that out. They’ll have two games coming up , but they’ll go then to Nowlan Park. If you do that in Nowlan Park, you’ll be conceding a lot of scores, let me tell you,” Daly stated.

Both panellists on The Sunday Game, Donal Óg Cusack and Anthony Daly, believed that the game went down to the fine margins.

A more in-depth analysis, which looks at some of those fine margins, can be found here as Wexford Weekly columnist Darragh Sinnott analysed the game afterwards.
