Oulart-The Ballagh have been a force to be reckoned with this season…
They defeated Taghmon/Camross in this evening’s Wexford Intermediate Hurling final at Chadwicks Wexford Park, with the game finishing on a scoreline of 1-26 to 2-13.
The once hurling kingpins of Wexford were relegated from the Wexford Senior hurling championship last season.
After being relegated just last season. , their ultimate goal was to gain promotion back to the Senior ranks this season.
It did not take them long either, especially given the competitiveness of the Wexford Intermediate Championship at the moment.
Despite that, with the talent that they still possess on their team, it was no real surprise for many to see Oulart-The Ballagh straight back up into the Senior hurling ranks.
They started the championship well, they were consistent, and they were by far the best team in the Intermediate hurling championship and were deserved winners of the competition.
Oulart-The Ballagh will now set their sights on winning the Intermediate Leinster hurling championship, and then the All-Ireland hurling championship, should they get out of Leinster.
Given the fact that many of their players have experience of winning Senior titles and even Leinster Senior club titles, they could go well in the competition.
