Wexford’s very own MMA fighter, Brian Moore, returned to the Octagon on Friday night…
In the Bellator bout, Wexford’s Moore came up against Arivaldo Lima Da Silva at the Bellator Dublin card on Friday 23 September.
Moore, who is nicknamed ‘The Pikeman’, bounced back after two straight losses with a victory by judges’ decision against Lima Da Silva.
Speaking after his victory, Moore described it as a “domination from start to finish” and he has called out Leandro Higo for his next bout.
“Tonight was clinical. I’m not just saying it. I hit him a checked right hook and he stumbled forward. I hit him an uper-cut, but this guy stood right back up again. He was tough. It was clinical, but I’ll get the finish the next time,” Moore said in the post-fight interview.
Moore’s long-term partner, Conor McGregor, has echoed Moore’s sentiments and has called on Bellator to give the Wexford man a crack at the World title shot.
“I want to see my team-mate, Wexford’s own, Straight Blast Gyms own, the Pikeman Brian Moore in a World Title fight in Bellator. That’s how you do it; you get the win – you put in the solid performance, the consistency, you rile the crowd, and you call the next one. That’s the Pikeman’s night on Irish soil. title fight next, please,” Conor McGregor said.
It was an important win for the Wexford man, and we’re excited to see who he gets next in the mixed martial arts game.
