Wexford’s Tadhg Furlong To Captain Irish Rugby Team For First Time This Weekend

A Wexford man will lead out the Irish Rugby team this weekend…

Tadhg Furlong has been selected as captain for Ireland’s rugby match against Fiji this weekend. Ireland take on Fiji in a Nations Series clash at the Aviva Stadium this Saturday.

It’s the first time that Furlong has been handed the honour of captaining the Irish rugby team.

Speaking at a press conference today, it was clear that Furlong is excited to lead out the team.

“It could be my only time. It’s class. It’s not something I ever thought would be on my radar,” he said.

Furlong has been a model of consistency for the Irish rugby team over the last few years and is recognised worldwide as one of the best props in the game.

The game will be shown live on Virgin Media Two.
