Edel Kennedy’s goal has since been awarded Goal of the Season, despite facing stiff opposition. She picked up the Wexford Youths Club goal of the season award for 2022. She is no stranger to picking up such awards though, having picked up the same award in 2021.
The Wexford Youths Women’s player scored an unbelievable volley against Limerick side, Treaty United earlier this season.
Kennedy controlled a clearance from the defender and the ball bounced up perfectly for her to strike it on the volley, only for it to go directly into the top-corner.

The same strike was also nominated for the Goal of the Season across the whole league, but she narrowly lost out in second place on an online poll.
