Wexford footballer named in GAA’s Team of the Week after impressive performance

A Wexford footballer has been named on the GAA’s Football Team of the Week…

In Wexford’s previous game, they took on neighbours, Carlow, in a performance that gained national headlines following the 23-point hammering.

The victory was Wexford’s biggest in championship football since our 4-22 to 0-9 defeat of London in Ruislip in 2010, and it was Wexford’s third-biggest win in history.

One player who was exceptional in that win was Wexford attacker, Mark Rossiter, scoring 2-02 for the Yellowbellies in the process.

Following that emphatic win, they’ll now be up against Louth in the Leinster SFC. It will be a Leinster quarter-final clash as Wexford attempt to topple Ger Brennan’s side.

The match, which takes place at 4:00pm on Sunday, will see Wexford enter the clash as 4/1 underdogs, with Louth shortly priced at 1/5.

Despite that, Louth manager Ger Brennan is not looking past Wexford and it’s clear that he has his homework done too.
