Wexford and Irish rugby player nominated for Women’s 6 Nations Player of the Championship

Wexford’s Aoife Wafer has taken the rugby world at storm…

The Ballygarret Co Wexford native is a member of the Irish Women’s ruby team.

Following her efforts throughout the Women’s Guinness 6 Nations Championship, 21-year-old Aoife Wafer has been nominated alongside three other sports women for the Player of the Championship.

The other three nominees are Alyssa D’Incà (ITA), fullback Ellie Kildunne (ENG), and back rowers Romane Menager (FRA).

Aoife has been playing rugby since she was 6 with Gorey RFC, then Enniscorthy RFC, and now represents Blackrock College RFC. She also grew up playing GAA, representing Wexford through many age-groups in both Gaelic football and Camogie.

The Wexford and Irish ruby player now needs our votes to get her over the line.

To vote, you need to follow this link. Then, vote for Aoife, write in your email address and select your country of residence. It’ll only take 30 seconds!
