It’s County Final time for the Wexford Senior Football Championship….
Both Gusserane O’Rahillys and Castletown will battle it out for silverware in this year’s Wexford SFC County Final.
It will be a repeat of the 2019 Wexford SFC county final, which seen Castletown Liam Mellows claimed their eleventh crown following a nine point win.
In the semi-final, Gusserane came back in normal time, scoring late points to bring their semi-final clash against Crossabeg/Ballymurn to extra-time. In extra-time, it was second half heartbreak once again for Crossabeg as Gusserane pulled it out of the bag, scoring some two late points to win by the minimum in Wexford Park.
Meanwhile, Castletown edged out Glynn-Barntown in the other semi-final by six points, with substitute Gavin McNulty scoring two crucial goals in the second half. Glynn-Barntown had defeated champions Shelmaliers in the quarter-final after pulling off a miraculous comeback.
One good identifier insight leading into the game is always the bookie’s odds, with most people arguing that the bookies are rarely wrong.
For the Wexford Senior Football final, the major bookmakers can only see one winner – and for them, they can only see a repeat of the 2019 final, with the North Wexford outfit, Castletown, priced as strong favourites.
Betting odds: Wexford SFC Final
Castletown 1/3
Gusserane O’Rahillys 13/8
