The Wexford Senior hurling team will take on Kilkenny this weekend…
It’s the last game of the year for the Wexford Senior hurlers after a relatively disappointing year overall. Wexford were relegated to Division 1B of the Allianz Hurling League and they managed just two wins in the Leinster Senior hurling championship, beating both Antrim and Offaly.
Crucially, they lost out to both Dublin and Galway.
It means that the Dublin and Galway clash is now essentially a Leinster semi-final this weekend, while Wexford cannot even progress into third place – and the All-Ireland stages – and that their game against Kilkenny is now a dead-rubber, with Kilkenny already through to the Leinster Senior hurling final for 2025.
With the game being a dead-rubber, fans were expecting to see some changes to the starting fifteen with more freedom – and with nothing to lose. Wexford Senior hurling boss, Keith Rossiter, has named his side for the clash.
