Amy Huberman says her favourite childhood memories were trips to Wexford

From the weather in the Sunny South-East, to the pristine beaches, to our historical landmarks, there’s no doubt that Wexford has plenty to offer tourists and those living in the county…

Wexford has it all – and celebrities tend to agree too.

One person who agrees with this sentiment is Amy Huberman. Amy Huberman is a Dublin-born Irish actress, writer, and producer. She gained fame as Daisy in RTÉ’s The Clinic (2 before penning and starring in the hit comedy Finding Joy, which started screening in 2018.

Amy is an IFTA‑winning novelist (Hello Heartbreak) and she’s married to Irish and World rugby icon Brian O’Driscoll, with three children.

In a recent piece with the Irish Examiner, Huberman said that going to Wexford was her favourite childhood memory:

“When I think of holidays, I think of Rosslare and Wexford. We spent most of our summers down there. It was freedom, playing with our pals, getting chipper chips, going down for a 99. My granny was from Wexford, so we’d go into town, and that always felt special. Then we’d keep going down to Rosslare. We also did trips abroad, to campsites in France. I remember the car packed up, wedged with everything.”

“My Dad had The Furey Brothers on repeat. It was a lot of time listening to that, but it was so exciting. You’d just spend full days on the beach, probably getting sunburned and sand whipped into your face, but they were such happy memories,” she said.
