Semi-final pairings revealed for Wexford Senior hurling championship

The semi-final pairings have been revealed for the Wexford Senior hurling championship…

We’re now into the final four of the Wexford Senior hurling championship, with all four teams eyeing silverware.

It was four weeks since both St Martins and Rathnure last played in the championship, but their break didn’t hinder their performances whatsoever, with both teams racking up big score-lines. Both St Martins and Rathure look like the teams to beat this year, having not lost one game in the championship to date.

The story of this year’s championshoip is undoubtedly Rathnure, who came up from the Intermediate Championship last year. Although they defeated Naomh Eanna in the group stages, a stiffer test will be ahead of them in the semi-final stages – with Naomh Eanna racking up a huge score-line against the Rapparees and overcoming the underdogs tag in their quarter-final clash against St Annes.

Both semi-finals will be played over the weekend of Friday October 10th to Sunday October 12th.

Quarter-final results:

Rathnure 4-24 – 1-13 Glynn Barntown

St Martins 4-18 – 1-10 Oulart

Naomh Eanna 2-17 – 0-21 St Annes

Faythe Harriers 0-14 – 1-19 Ferns
