Breakthrough Maths offers free online maths grinds ahead of November and Christmas exams

It might feel like the school year has only just started, but November tests are already here and Christmas exams are suddenly not very far away…

For students who are starting to fall behind in maths (or simply want to get ahead before exam season kicks in) Breakthrough Maths is giving students the chance to try one of its live online maths grinds completely free tomorrow.

The free taster class marks the beginning of a new term at Breakthrough Maths and is open to students who want to see what the classes are actually like before signing up.

And even one class can make a difference.

Students will spend the lesson actively working through maths with their tutor, practising questions and learning methods they can bring straight back into the classroom ahead of their November and Christmas tests.

A chance to get ahead before Christmas

This point in the school year can catch students and parents by surprise.

September is barely over, the October break arrives, and suddenly schools are preparing for November tests and Christmas exams.

TJ Hegarty, founder of Breakthrough Maths, says this is one of the best times of year to get extra support. Before small gaps in understanding have the chance to become much bigger ones.

Rather than waiting until the week before an exam to start cramming, the aim is to build up maths gradually through regular practice.

Students who continue after the free class can access four live maths grinds every week, with classes covering different topics throughout the term. There are tests in every class and parents receive updates on their child progress every Sunday.

Not your traditional maths grind

Breakthrough Maths classes are held live online, but they are designed to be much more interactive than simply watching somebody explain maths on a screen.

Students work through questions during every class and can ask their tutor for help privately throughout the lesson.

Regular testing is also built into the programme, helping students see where they are improving and where they still need extra work.

And if a student misses a lesson – or wants to go back over a difficult topic before an exam – the classes are recorded so they can watch them again afterwards.

The idea is to give students a consistent routine with maths rather than leaving everything until the night before a test.

Try it before committing

For parents, the free taster class also means there is no need to commit to a programme without knowing whether their child will actually enjoy it.

Students can simply join tomorrow’s class, meet the tutor and experience a real Breakthrough Maths lesson for themselves. There is classes for students in 4th class right up to 6th year.

If they like it, they can continue into the new term.

With November tests already beginning in schools and Christmas exams only weeks away, the team believes now is the ideal time for students to get an extra bit of support.

The free Breakthrough Maths taster class takes place tomorrow, Monday the 2nd of November.
