Fresh Report Links Davy Fitzgerald With Vacant Managerial Position

A new report today from Kieran Cunningham in today’s Irish Daily Star has linked Davy Fitzgerald with a vacant managerial position…

According to The Irish Daily Star, Galway are looking to make a move for Fitzgerald to become their new Senior hurling manager.

Micháel Donoghue recently departed the Tribesmen after four years in charge and they are currently seeking a new manager.

This isn’t the first time Galway have been linked with Fitzgerald in recent times; less than two weeks ago, he was backed into favourite for the job after PaddyPower opened betting on the vacant Galway managerial position. While he did move into 2/1 favourite, later that evening Fitzgerald was backed back out to 6/1.

That isn’t the only position the Banner man is linked with though. The Clare native has also been linked with a move back to his home county, to manage Clare for a second stint, despite Ger Loughnane’s wishes.

Fitzgerald, who managed the Yellowbellies for the previous three years, has not yet committed to another year in charge of the Model County, depsite various media reports.

Wexford fans will be hopeful that Fitzgerald announces his decision sooner rather than later, especially after the successes of last year’s Leinster final win.
