After A Long Delay, We Now Know Who Will Be Promoted To The Wexford SFC

After a lenghty delay in the latter stages of the Intermediate Football Championship, we finally have a winner…

Bunclody played Crossabeg-Ballymurn today in the Intermediate Football final. The game finished on a scoreline of 1-12 to 0-04 in favour of Bunclody.

Down 0-10 to 0-02 at half-time, it was an uphill battle for Crossabeg-Ballymurn from there on, despite having a wind advantage in the second-half.

The Intermediate Football final was long-awaited however, with Bunclody’s rescheduled semi-final date against St Mary’s spanning over the course of six weeks due to unplayable conditions at Wexford Park.

This meant that Wexford were forced to withdraw their representatives for the looming Leinster Intermediate Club football champpionship, giving Mullinavat of Kilkenny a walk-over.

Despite that, Bunclody will be delighted with their promotion to the Senior ranks of the Wexford Senior Football Championship.

After losing out this year’s Intermediate Hurling final to Cloughbawn, they’ll be hoping to push on to Senior dual status next year.
