Wexford’s Allianz National Hurling and Football League fixtures were revealed in the GAA’s Master Plan which was released today…
For Wexford hurling fans, there are a few stand-out fixtures. Welcoming the two Brians to Wexford Park will be music to the Yellowbellies ears. The grudge-battle between former friends Lohan and Fitzgerald will take centre stage in the Clare match, while Cody’s Kilkenny will be attempting to redeem themselves after losing the Leinster final last year to the Model County.
The other, is a trip to Croke Park, where Fitzgerald’s charges will take on Dublin as part of a double-header. The Wexford vs Dublin hurling game will act as the curtain raiser at 5pm.
It’s likely that the Croke Park floodlights will be turned on mid-way through the game, remaining on from there on after.
The other teams involved are Dublin’s five-in-a-row All-Ireland champions, who take on Donegal in their repsective Divison 1 Football clash. Those games will take place at 5pm and 7pm respectively on Saturday 22nd of February.
