Wexford Hurler Set To Appeal Red Card Following Dublin Clash

The Wexford Senior hurlers travelled to Croke Park last Saturday where they faced Mattie Kenny’s Dublin…

Full-time:

Dublin 0-18
Wexford 2-14

Hot favourites Wexford emerged victorious in their return to Croke Park last Saturday with a two-point win over Dublin. One of the major talking points following the game however, was about the refereeing display of Johnny Murphy.

Conor McDonald, who came on as a substitute in the second-half, received a red-card just moments after he stepped onto the field.

Speaking after the game, Wexford hurling manager Davy Fitzgerald stated that Wexford will appeal the Naomh Eanna club-man’s red-card.

“We will be lodging an appeal, of that there’s no doubt.”

Wexford’s next game out in the Allianz Hurling League is against Carlow this weekend, where the Yellowbellies will be expected to cruise to victory at Chadwicks Wexford Park.
