The bomb squad were called to a house in Wexford this afternoon…
Several members of Ireland’s Army Bomb Disposal Unit who came from Cork were in Wexford this afternoon. They were called to a house in the Kilmuckridge/Oulart area.
Gardai were first called to the house this morning. Local Gardai at the scene then called the Army’s bomb disposal unit after assessing the suspect devices.
Two suspect devices were found. The Wexford People reported that the suspect devices were World War 2 bombs.
One of the devices was dormant, but the other was believed to be live.
Just yesterday, the two devices were delivered to the family and the family were using the devices as garden ornaments.
It was expected that the two devices would be blown up as a precautionary, but Wexford Weekly can now confirm that the army bomb disposal unit are no longer present at the scene and that they have taken the two devices away.
The Army Bomb Disposal Unit will now complete more tests on the devices.
