The date for Wexford’s Leinster semi-final has been set and it’s only around the corner…
In just over four weeks, Davy Fitzgerald’s Wexford Senior hurlers will compete in the Leinster hurling semi-final.
For our forgetful fans, Wexford will be playing Galway in this year’s Leinster hurling championship semi-final.
Wexford, who are reigning Leinster hurling champions, will play Galway on Halloween night, Saturday, October 31 at 6:15pm.
Wexford were drawn out of the hat first and a home game against the Tribesmen looked likely — but judging by the time set for the upcoming fixture, it’s likely that this year’s match will be played under-lights, which rules out the game being played at Wexford Park.
The Leinster Council have noted that due to the “ongoing issues relating to Covid-19, the confirmation of venues will come at a later date.”
Should Croke Park be available, it’s likely that the match would be played there.
Meanwhile, Laois will play Dublin in the quarter-final one week earlier, on October 24th, with the winner playing Kilkenny in the other semi-final.
