As per a report in the Irish Examiner, Wexford Senior hurler Paudie Foley has opted out of Davy Fitzgerald’s Wexford Senior hurling panel for the upcoming season.

The news will come as a hammer blow to the Wexford Senior hurling panel who are due to return to team-training on Monday evening next.

Foley has been a consistent attacking wing-back and has been a central player to Fitzgerald’s style of play.

The 26-year-old Crossabeg-Ballymurn clubman was nominated for an All-Star award in 2019, a year which saw the Yellowbellies be crowned Leinster Champions for the first time since 2004.
