Two Wexford Natives Feature On Winning Ireland U-20 Rugby Team Today

Ireland U-20 kicked off their Six Nations challenge with a bonus point win against Scotland at BT Cardiff Arms Park…

Ireland were 7-14 up at half time and took full advantage of Scotland losing a man to a red card as they powered to a 7-38 final score.

Two Wexford natives started on the Ireland u-20 rugby win over Scotland.

Enniscorthy’s Temi Lasisi and Wexford’s Josh O’Connor were both central figures in today’s victory.

It’s great to see young Wexford sportspeople performing at the highest levels. These are two names that we, along with many other Wexford people, will be keeping a close eye on as their rugby careers progress.

Meanwhile, in other Wexford rugby news, 24-year-old Wexford prop Greg McGrath has signed a contract with Connacht who signs from Leinster.

“I’m very proud to be joining Connacht and signing my first professional contract. Connacht have a great history of developing players and giving them an opportunity to impress, so I hope to make a positive impact there. I’m looking forward to making the move to the west and seeing what the future has in store,” McGrath said.
