Wexford Man To Represent The County At Upcoming All-Ireland Poc Fada Competition

Wexford will be represented at the upcoming Poc Fada..

Wexford will be represented by Callum Quirke of St Martins GAA Club at the All-Ireland Poc Fada event. Poc Fada is Irish for “long puck”. It’s an All-Ireland Poc Fada Championship which is held annually testing the skills of many of the top Hurling and Camogie players.

This year will mark its 60th anniversary since it was first held.

The defending Poc Fada champion is Cillian Kiely, who will be joined by his brother, Cathal, who will also be competing in the event.

Kilkenny’s Eoin Murphy is another stand-out name on the list who Quirke will be competing against in the event.

The M. Donnelly GAA All-Ireland Poc Fada Final proceedings will get under way at 12 noon on Annaverna Mountain, in the Cooley Range, Ravensdale, Co. Louth on Saturday, September 25th.
