Wexford’s Fixtures For 2022 Leinster Hurling Championship Confirmed

It won’t be too long before we’re back supporting Wexford again…

Wexford’s fixtures for the 2022 Leinster hurling championship have been confirmed.

In Wexford’s first game in the Leinster hurling championship, they’ll be welcoming Henry Shefflin’s Galway to Wexford Park. That opening game will take place on the weekend of 16/17 April 2022.

In Round 2, Wexford will welcome Dublin to Wexford Park, scheduled to take place on the weekend of 23/24 April.

In Round 3, Darragh Egan’s side will travel to O’Moore Park to face Laois. That will take place the following weekend on 30 April/1 May.

In the fourth round, another trip awaits us as Wexford will be travelling to Westmeath. That game will take place on 14/15 May.

In the fifth and final game, Wexford will be travelling to the old enemy’s ground. Wexford will face Brian Cody’s Kilkenny in Nowlan Park on 21/22 May, which could be a crucial game.

Overall, as Wexford fans, we should be happy with those fixtures. We’ve both Galway and Dublin at home in Wexford Park, which are two difficult games. Likewise, our two easier games, Laois and Westmeath, are away. A lot could come down to the fifth and final game against Kilkenny in Nowlan Park, but in recent times, we’ve fared quite well against them.

In other fixture news, Wexford’s fixtures for the 2022 Walsh Cup and the O’Byrne Cup were confirmed yesterday.
