The Wexford Kennedy Cup squad travelled to Donegal on Friday…
They played Donegal in the plate semi-final on Saturday morning. The game took place on Donegal turf, at Curragh Athletic FC’s grounds in Killygordon.
Wexford now set their sights on the final after defeating Donegal today after extra-time.
The sides could not be separated at the full-time whistle, but Wexford scored early on in the extra-time period, and they held out to secure an impressive away victory.
Wexford won the game 1-2, with Wexford’s goals coming from Cian O’Dowd and Tom Funge.Â
The plate final is due to take place next weekend at the University of Limerick.
The other semi-final will be played amongst the Midlands and Limerick District tomorrow, Sunday, December 5th, and Wexford will then learn who they will face in the final.
