Profiling The Kinsella Family Members Currently On Ireland’s Fittest Family

The Kinsellas are Wexford’s sole representatives on this year’s Ireland’s Fittest Family..

Last year, a Wexford family, the Mahoneys from Glynn Barntown, took home the crown ⁠— and this year, the Kinsella’s will be hoping to do the same.

The Kinsellas will be in action again this Sunday evening on RTÉ1 at 6:30pm and they will be competing in the final of the national competition.

Ahead of the programme, we’ve profiled the family who are from Marshalstown, Enniscorthy, Co Wexford.

Patrick Kinsella:

Name: Patrick

Age: 50

Location: Marshalstown.

Occupation: Works with ESB.

Hobbies and interests: Likes to keep fit and has a home gym. Loves GAA and all sports.

Michael Kinsella:

Name: Michael

Age: 22

Occupation: He is a 4th year student at the University of Limerick. Michael is studying Metalwork post-primary teaching. He’s currently on placement in Bunclody VEC.

Sports: Plays hurling and football with club Marshalstown, Castledockrell.

Interests: Michael loves all sports. He has tried them all over the years including athletics, soccer, boxing and rugby, which he has started back at recently.

David Kinsella:

Name: David

Age: 18

Occupation: David currently works for ABP currently based in Clohamon.

Sports: Like Michael, he has played all sports over the years. Likewise, he currently plays GAA for his club Marshalstown.

Caoimhe Kinsella:

Name: Caoimhe

Age: 16

Occupation: Caoimhe is currently a Transition Year student at FCJ Bunclody.

Interests: Loves horses and has her own horse called ‘Murph’.

Sports: She plays camogie with Marshalstown and plays ladies football with Baile Dubh Tire. Caoimhe also boxes with St Anthony’s St Patrick’s BC Enniscorthy. In 2019, she won the Gold in European Schoolgirl Championships in Tbilisi.
