A Wexford Family Have Won Ireland’s Fittest Family For The Second Year Running

A Wexford family have won Ireland’s Fittest Family for the second year running…

Last year, a Wexford family, the Mahoneys from Glynn Barntown, took home the crown.

This year, under the stewardship of coach Anna Geary, the Kinsellas from Wexford have replicated that success.

The Kinsellas, who are from Marshalstown in County Wexford, took place in the grand finale on Sunday evening on RTÉ.

It was nip-and-tuck right until the very end against the gutsy McIntryre family from Tipperary. It was a nail-biting finish, but the Wexford family just managed to pull up their final family member onto the podium to secure the victory.

Speaking after the win, coach Anna Geary expressed her pride for the Wexford family:

“Talk about a dramatic finish! Both families were incredible. Honesty of effort. Determination. Teamwork. Grit. That final had everything! So proud of the Kinsellas. You got to believe you can do it,” she said.

It means that it is the second year running that a Wexford family has been crowned Ireland’s Fittest Family. Not only have the Wexford family came around with the crown and the tag of Ireland’s Fittest Family for 2021, but they’ll also walk away from the show €15,000 richer.

Ahead of the programme, we profiled the Enniscorthy family, so make sure to check out that article for more information on the family.
