Protest Planned For Tomorrow Could Impact Wexford Commuters

A protest which is being planned for tomorrow could impact Wexford commuters…

A protest is being planned for tomorrow, Monday 11th April, on the motorways across Dublin.

The protest is being planned online by ‘The People of Ireland against Fuel Prices’.

The organisers have called on the public for their support. They have called on all drivers to lend their support, including truck drivers, bus drivers, vans, motorbikes, taxis, tractors, and campervans.

“Once we are in we stop and we do not move until our demands are met. Remember this is for the people of Ireland and we will all benefit. Let’s stand together once and for al. Majority of vehicles and drivers will be company-owned and this is a big sacrifice financially and for the future of their business. Please show respect and show support. We want a peaceful protest so anyone who plans to cause trouble please stay at home. We hope you all understand,” the organisers said.

This is not the first time that a similar protest has taken place in Ireland. A similar protest took place last year, but the public was not called to support. Instead, it was mostly truckers from across Ireland.

The organisers have also stated that “this protest will not just be a one day. The protest will be a long drawn-out process until our demands our met!”

This protest has the potential to impact many Wexford commuters travelling to work in Dublin. The group believes that the positives of this protest outweigh the negatives, as the rising fuel prices have an impact on all people across Ireland.

The Gardai are aware of the protest and have told commuters to expect delays.
