Wexford GAA reveal their new ‘Director of Hurling’

Wexford GAA have confirmed their new ‘director of hurling’…

Niall Williams has been employed as Wexford GAA’s Coach & Player Development Manager.

He will fill the new ‘Director of Hurling’ role as part of their High-Performance Plan for Hurling.

The news was confirmed at a Wexford GAA County Board meeting held on 23 August 2022.

The purpose of this programme is to develop ‘model’ players, coaches and teams to consistently achieve success at the highest level.

Niall has numerous qualifications including a Certificate in Sports Coaching and a MSc. in Coaching & Exercise Science.

Niall, who has recently moved to live in New Ross, spent ten years as a GPO with Dublin GAA and has been the Coach Education and Development Officer for the Camogie Association for the past four years.

He also has a wealth of coaching experience across multiple codes at all levels and, most recently, with St. Martin’s who were narrowly beaten in this year’s county final.
