2023 O’Byrne Cup fixtures: When are the Wexford footballers back in action?

It’s almost Christmas and that only means one thing. Yep, the pre-season GAA competitions are almost back…

The Walsh Cup fixtures have been finalised for the 2023 season. Wexford will have two home games in the 2023 O’Byrne Cup; they’ll take on Kildare and Louth at home, while they’ll have to travel to Westmeath for a weekend fixture in between.

The team with home and advantage, and dates have been confirmed, and the times and specific venues for the games have since been confirmed by the GAA.

The O’Byrne Cup will be used by teams to breed new players into the panel. For Wexford, however, they’ll be hoping for a positive start in the competition. Given that new Wexford manager, John Hegarty, has stated that Wexford will be focussing on the League this year, it would be no surprise to see a strong team lined out in these O’Byrne Cup clashes.

2023 O’Byrne Cup Fixtures (first team named has home advantage):

Wexford vs Kildare, Wed Jan 4th, Piercestown, 8pm.

Westmeath vs Wexford, Sat Jan 7th, The Downs GAA Club, 2pm.

Wexford vs Louth, Wed Jan 11th, Hollymount, 8pm.

The group winners will play the winners of the Offaly, Dublin and Wicklow group in the semi-final of the O’Byrne Cup, scheduled to take place on Sunday Jan 5th.

Meanwhile, in other fixture related news, Wexford’s fixtures for the Walsh Cup have been revealed, Wexford’s Allianz Hurling League fixtures, and Wexford’s Leinster Championship fixtures have also been confirmed for the upcoming season.
