Return of the Queen: Jarrett Signs Deal With Wexford Youths Women

On Monday, London City Lionesses that Republic of Ireland international Rianna Jarrett has left the club by mutual agreement…

In a statement released on the club’s website, they confirmed the departure.

Some keen readers picked up on one piece of information from the statement – and that was that she was looking forward to returning “home.”

While we stated yesterday that the statement shouldn’t be analysed in too much detail, it has now been confirmed by Jarrett and the Wexford Youths Women’s team that she has re-signed for the club.

Speaking on her return to the Wexford Youths set-up, Jarrett stated:

“Excited to be back playing with Wexford Youths, it’s going to be a fun couple of weeks before the season starts. I’m excited to get back working with Stephen and the team, there’s a lot of familiar faces that I’ve played with previously like Kylie Murphy, Ciara Rossiter, Lolly Conlon, Edel Kennedy and Lauren Dwyer who have all been there from the start. The recent announcement of Emily Corbet coming in is exciting. She hit the ground running last year with Athlone and hopefully I can partner up with her and we’ll be a good strike force.”

“For me obviously been out injured for the last 12 months, the next couple of weeks are about building fitness, building form and obviously building connections in training so I’m really looking forward to getting started this week with the girls,” she said.

With other talent such as Emily Corbett from Athlone Town joining the ranks and the likes of Ellen Molloy re-singing for the year, Wexford Youths Women will be a formidable force across the competitions in 2023.
