All eyes are now starting to turn to the Wexford Premier Division playoff for the league title between North End and Gorey Rangers…
After Gorey Rangers 3-0 defeat of Moyne Rangers in their final League game, it means that they have drawn level on points with North End United.
A play-off fixture between the two sides, as predicted by one of our columnists, is the solution to crown the Wexford Premier Division League winner.
The eagerly-anticipated play-off clash is set for Thursday, June 1st.
The fixture has been confirmed for Ferrycarrig Park, Wexford, at 7:30pm. There will be a 5EUR admission fee on the gate.
North End will be happy with the venue choice, given the fact that they have previously defeated Gorey Rangers 2-1 there in the Wexford Cup semi-final after extra time. They then went on to attain silverware in that competition, defeating Ferns United 4-1.
Despite their excellent season, a season where they narrowly lost out in the FAI Junior Cup final, Gorey Rangers FC still have not brough back silverware to the town.
Unlike North End who will be aiming for the double, Gorey Rangers will be hoping to bring back their first piece of silverware next Thursday.
With the League title on the line, there is sure to be an excellent crowd shouting for two really excellent sides in Wexford football.
For those who cannot attend the play-off, the Wexford Football League have confirmed that they will be live-streaming the game on their Facebook page.
