Two Wexford people will be looking forward to travelling to London….
While your typical person might travel to London to view the Big Ben or to go to a football game, both David Kennedy and Shauna Kearney are going there for a scrap.
Both David ‘Bomber’ Kennedy and Shauna Kearney won National titles earlier this year and all national title winners were invited to the Haringey Box Cup.

Kennedy, who fights out of Gorey Boxing Club, won the men’s title at 80kg, while Kearney, who fights out of Bunclody Boxing Club, won the women’s title at 81kg+.
The two Wexford natives are apart of a 15-team Team Ireland squad.

The Harringey Box Cup is a three-day multi-class Box Cup from Alexandra Palace in London, and it is billed as Europe’s largest amateur boxing event.
It will take place from June 16th to June 18th, 2023.
Both Wexford boxers will be facing tough opponents, with boxers travelling from all over Europe to face each other on a big stage.
