Wexford footballer nominated for GAA.ie Football Player of the Week

John Hegarty’s Wexford Senior footballers took on Offaly on Saturday…

Incredibly, the Wexford Senior Footballers overcame the underdogs tag and defeated Offaly on a score-line of 1-22 to 2-14. More incredible was the fact that all of Wexford’s scores came from open play.

One player that was central to the Model County’s win was Mark Rossiter. Rossiter scored 1-04 from play to help lead John Hegarty’s charges to a special victory against the Faithful County. As a result of his performances, he has been nominated for the Tailteann Cup Player of the Week.

To vote for Mark Rossiter, head over to the GAA.ie’s Instagram Story and click ‘yes’ under Mark’s picture on their story.

Meanwhile, three Wexford Senior footballers have been named on the GAA.ie’s Team of the Week for the Tailteann Cup. They include corner-forward Mark Rossiter, Brian Molloy at midfield, and Glen Malone at wing-back.

Wexford’s win over Offaly places them into the quarter-final stages of the Tailteann Cup.

The draw for the quarter-finals was made this morning (Monday) and Wexford have learned their opponents for their quarter-final clash.

The quarter-final games of the Tailteann Cup will take place next weekend, with fixture details to be confirmed by the CCCC later today.
