Local musician creates catchy song about Thirsty Thursdays in Wexford pub

A local Wexford musician has created a catchy song…

The song about ‘Thirsty Thursdays’ was written and performed by local Wexford musician, Liam Byrne, renowned for his Christy Moore renditions.

The tune is about having a night out in Paddy Blues pub in Gorey after training was cancelled. In the song, he mentions the journey of the whole night including the bouncer and referee Paddy Brady, the craic inside with DJ Ciano, where he meets an hen night from Camolin, a stag night from Coolgreany, and even a “young lad getting sick in the urinal.”

A number of local Gorey businesses also found their way into the song such as Pettitt’s, Malocca’s, Tara Stores.
