Two young Wexford footballers pivotal to Freshers All-Ireland success with college team

Two young Wexford natives were pivotal to their college’s recent All-Ireland win….

DCU defeated University of Galway GAA in the Fresher A All-Ireland Football final yesterday evening. The Dublin college won on a score-line of 4-08 to 0-08.

Two Wexford footballers, Dylan Cooke-Leonard from Naomh Eanna and Horsewood native William Foley were apart of the winning side. Dylan started the game at wing-back, while the Horsewood man excelled in the goal, keeping a clean-sheet in the process.

A key moment of the match was when Wexford native and goalkeeper for the DCU side, pulled off an excellent point-blank save to stop a clear goal at a crucial point in the game with just fifteen minutes played.

Foley received plaudits from former long-serving Wexford goalkeeper, Anthony Masterson, who posted a clip of the save online.
